Coleen Soriano

My name is Coleen Soriano, and I am a Filipino immigrant woman living in the United States. Five years ago, my single mother and I moved from the Philippines.

Making films has been my passion for as long as I can remember. As a form of storytelling, film allows me to visually present emotions. I want to create art that evokes feelings in people—whether it's emotions they haven't felt before, emotions they experience every day, emotions they haven't felt in a long time, or emotions that are hard to describe. Through my films, I aim to connect people to their humanity, reminding them that no matter who they are or where they come from, everyone shares the same human experience.
